Shelf Life of Common Household Chemicals

You can tell when milk is bad and you probably have an idea of when to throw out the mayo in your fridge, but you may be unaware of the shelf life of other common household chemicals. For example, did you know hydrogen peroxide is only good for about a month once you've opened it? Gas which contains ethanol is at its best for only a few weeks
Some common everyday chemicals last indefinitely, but others have a shelf life. This is a table of expiration dates for several household chemicals. In some cases, the chemicals have a shelf life because the product accumulates bacteria or breaks down into other chemicals, rendering it ineffective or potentially dangerous. In other cases, the expiration date is related to diminished effectiveness over time.
